Lory Armstrong

Lory is a retired elementary teacher of the Detroit Public Schools.  She also held positions with Southeast Head Start and C.O.T.S. Day Care Center as an early childhood educator. Lory joined MI-RAMP in 2021 and believes in stimulating critical thinking, inquiry and choices.  She believes in bridging learning to daily life experiences.

Staci Irvin

Staci is a Board member and new Teacher-Tutor who started with cohort 7 in November 2022. Staci taught elementary school students for about a decade before pivoting to financial business and starting her own finance-based company. Staci is overjoyed to join MI-RAMP and return to helping youth learn. 

Staci Newton 

Staci is a certified Special Educator, Early Intervention Specialist and Founder of the North Texas Angels pageant nonprofit organization.  Newton has dedicated her  life to working with children and making sure society knows that ALL children can learn, regardless of their ability level or socioeconomic status. Staci joined MI-RAMP as a Teacher -Tutor in 2020.


Lydia Nickleberry

Lydia is an educator and writer, who is the owner of The Writing Connoisseur Publishing Agency.  She joined MI-RAMP because she believes in embracing and educating the whole child to strengthen academics and self-esteem.

Victoria Washington

Victoria discovered her passion for tutoring while finishing up her undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of Michigan. As an MI-RAMP teacher-tutor, she has the pleasure of working with students with diverse learning styles and needs. She is committed to helping students set and achieve personal academic goals to boost their confidence across a variety of subjects.

Jameca Aaron 

Jameca is an early childhood educator for Detroit Public School Community District. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, ZA endorsement and has her master's degree. She believes it takes a village to raise a child!
